Workinghard.app extension privacy
Effective October 3, 2026 ยท Version 1.3.1
This policy applies to the Workinghard.app browser extension. Its purpose is to present supported social content, conversations and video in user-selected workspace reading layouts, with local planning covers and viewing controls. The separate workinghard.app website and optional website sign-in are outside this extension policy.
Information the extension handles
On supported HTTPS pages of Reddit, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Threads, YouTube and opt-in Messenger, WhatsApp Web and Twitch, the extension uses the current page URL and loaded content, including posts, comments, names/usernames, counts, media URLs and available native controls. On YouTube it also reads video information, descriptions, suggestions and comments/replies. On optional messaging pages, loaded conversation names, avatars, messages and attachments are read in bounded tab memory; native drafts stay in the original service editor and conversations are cleared from extension memory on Restore. Twitch stream/video details and public chat are read from the loaded page. This information is used to display the requested view; it is not saved as a post library, account record or browsing history.
Optional participant avatar uploads are resized to small static images locally and saved only in this browser profile; the extension never uploads those images. Preferences and content you explicitly write into local planning documents, source text, conversations, notes or mail drafts are saved in this browser profile's extension storage. Voluntarily entered content may include names, addresses or other personal information you choose to write. Native social reply drafts stay in the platform's editor. A bounded memory backup supports explicit draft recovery when navigation removes an editor; it is never saved in extension storage or uploaded. Local code is never executed; local mail and planning conversations are never sent as email or workplace messages.
Requests to supported platforms
Native websites, players and account controls continue their normal requests. YouTube Browse sends your search query directly to YouTube and reads its suggestions/results. Description and Comment read YouTube's watch information and comment continuations with the site's existing session. Twitch Browse filters loaded channels; Search Twitch opens a native search tab. Messaging navigation, attachment loading and explicit Send use the original service controls and session. Thumbnail/avatar images load from the supported platforms' image hosts. These requests use HTTPS. The extension does not read or export passwords, authentication cookies or tokens, and it does not provide a developer server for uploading your content.
Platform logging, browser history, your existing account session and each platform's own privacy policy still apply. Explicitly using a native like, vote, share or submit control is an action on that platform. A different page layout does not hide URLs, network traffic or activity from monitoring.
Sharing and limited use
The extension includes no analytics, advertising tracker or data-upload service for its developer. User data is not sold, used for creditworthiness or lending, shared for advertising, or transferred for purposes unrelated to the disclosed reading-interface purpose. Information is used only for those user-facing functions and the necessary supported-platform requests described above. Workinghard.app's use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Local retention and deletion
Local settings and user-authored cover content remain until you edit/delete them or remove the extension and its Chrome-managed local storage. Loaded source content and YouTube information are held in memory while needed for the view. Feed-return checkpoints and draft handoffs are scoped to the current tab and site. Background handoffs expire after ten minutes, are consumed once, and clear when the tab closes; these cannot be recovered after extension memory is cleared. Meeting chat is in memory and disappears when the view closes. No cloud sync of extension content is used. Export any local notes you want to keep before removing the extension. Removing it does not delete your platform posts, website documents or browser history.
Permissions and control
The extension uses storage for local settings/content, activeTab to identify the current site when you click its icon or shortcut, and scripting to load/register site modules. Messenger, WhatsApp Web and Twitch host access is optional and requested when you enable the integration. Restoring stops extension page monitoring; revoking optional access also disables that integration and unregisters its scripts. Content scripts are limited to supported sites and exclude specified login and account routes. Social-feed scripts exclude private-message routes; the separately enabled messaging modules handle supported conversations. It starts disabled. The workspace chooser explains local data handling before you enable a view; choosing a layout saves that acknowledgment with your local preferences. Restore returns the original website; Chrome's extension settings let you limit site access or remove the extension. No camera, microphone, screen capture, general history access or workplace account integration is requested.
Support and changes
See the extension support page for instructions and problem reports. Changes to data handling will be reflected in an updated public policy and Store disclosures before release.
